CREATE 8X8 CHARACTERS – PART 2
Take a look at another animation.
We can add some other types of players.
Sometimes, the other 8×8 character types I’ve seen look like this.
We can make its skin color.
You can make a shirt like this.
I don’t want this very much, but I’ve seen some people use it.
You can have the hair.
Finally, we want it to have hands.
That’s another way you can do it with 8×8.
One last consideration is how you use it.
Let’s say you’re making a game and a silhouette character. How do you add some sword or gun or stuff like that?
Let’s use a weapon like a space shooter because it’s easier.
Let’s say we have our shoulders here.
It’s always tricky to do the other side of it.
I’ll pick a different color for the gun.
It is your gun.
Do you want that in the actual sprite?
Or do you want the gun to be a separate sprite?
It’s entirely up to you!
Which one do you want to do?
Do you want to have a different kind of gun or not? That also is a little bit tricky when it comes to swords.
I create a sword. Often we end up adding it here like this.
Then pick the excellent color for the sword, and you can see why the 8×8 is problematic because it’s hard to get the exact kind of detail looking good.
Even if I want to add a sword to this one, that can be tricky.
Whether you want to do that or not is up to you.
Some people add it to the actual, and that makes it a little bit better.
I raise all this, and you’ll see it better. You can do that and add great color too!
You can have such a sword.
You can have such an ax.
You can change it a bit too, and we got a nice ax!
In my opinion, the sword works best.
If you want, you can add it.
I think the stick works well as a sword.
That ends up with the 8×8 design.
